Editor & Founding Contributor
Arthur started fitshluminous after realising that five years of balcony growing had taught him more than most books. He writes primarily about structure, containers and the politics of north-facing spaces.
Florence Khan
Senior Writer & Community Editor
Florence covers local growing projects across the North of England and writes the journal's personal columns. She grows herbs, soft fruit and an impressive amount of chilli on a Leeds terrace.
Maya Mason
Research Editor & Partnerships
Maya fact-checks every plant claim in the journal, liaises with partner brands and maintains our editorial standards guide. She has a particular interest in soil science and water retention in containers.
What holds us together
Direct experience
We don't publish advice we haven't tested ourselves. If the journal says it works, one of us has tried it in a pot or trough first.
Honest assessment
Things fail in containers more often than gardening media admit. We write about the failures as well as the successes.

Every editorial decision starts with the question: is this genuinely useful to someone with limited space and limited time?
Clear attribution
Every article carries an author name. You always know who wrote it and what relationship, if any, they have to a featured brand.
